Track  Membrane  Technology

The NAQWA SWR track membrane is manufactured in an automated, hygienic environment and process. This results in a product that is clean until opened. The membrane consists of a thin polymer film of about 10 microns deep. Each square centimeter of membrane contains hundreds of millions of pores (holes) of 0.2-0.4 microns in diameter (each pore is approximately 100 times thinner than a human hair!).

Each pore in the membrane is cut by an ion beam directed at the unique polymer film used to make the membrane. And, each ion leaves behind a hidden track (passage way) along its trajectory through the film (hence the name "track" membrane). The microscopic size of these tracks ensures the highest quality of drinking water purification.
